Narragansett Festival of Lights

A Nintendo DS, a ballerina outfit, an American Girl doll…these were just a few of the requests I had the privilege of listening in on while photographing Santa Photo’s at the Narragansett Towers.  It was so awesome to see the excitement in the kids eyes! They were so thrilled to see Santa.  I was thrilled by the turnout and the amount of people who chose to donate a toy or donate money to the Narragansett Housing Authority.  At one point, I looked over to my assistant’s table and saw THREE bins filled with toys! I was overwhelmed with emotion.  I know first hand the amount of need there is in Narragansett alone.  I am beside myself with joy and am truly grateful to each and every person who came out and supported this cause.  Thanks to you, we collected 50 toys and $400! These donations are going to the over 300 kids who live below the poverty line in Narrragansett.

I want to send a big thanks to Tom Tessitore from Parks and Recs, the Narragansett Housing Authority, my elves from parks and recs and from the High School, and my two awesome assistants.  I also want to thank Debbie Kelso, from the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce, for suggesting the Narragansett Authority as a beneficiary of the donations.  Thank you for making this event a success!
